Under the ice of Antarctica discovered 91 previously unknown volcanoOctober 3, 2017
Researchers from the University of Edinburgh (Great Britain) discovered under the ice shield of Antarctica 91 previously unknown volcano. Even if at least one of them starts erupting, it promises great trouble for human civilization, scientists say. Based on radar data, both terrestrial and airborne, scientists have identified a high concentration of volcanoes in a region known as the West Antarctic Rift System, which extends for 3,500 km from the Antarctic ice shelf to the Antarctic Peninsula, the Guardian reports.
