2014 Toyota Prius Hatchback Review

The Prius C is the EPA fuel efficient and a hybrid rather than conservative at the first look of all the four models of the line. The standard Prius and plug in version both switch smoothly in petrol to electric power. The Prius C hatchback with five doors is a hybrid model with not just the gasoline version. One feature which Toyota managed to bring in is getting both a smaller 0.9 -kilowatt-hour battery and gasoline tank under the rear seat. The steering handling though cannot be called smooth but overly light.
On the battery run the Prius is quiet but when on electric model, it creates sound. Engine is not having sound when cruising but it starts when accelerating. It is unable to combat the wind and road noise in the cabin.
The Prius can’t be called cheap as compared to other cheaper hybrid cars available in the market. Yes, if going for the company car rather than the private car will get you respite in tax with the low CO2 emissions. For the short journey takers owning the Plug-in will be benefitting at the pumps. It has a good mileage.
The interior of the car is good but dampeners are the seats and dull plastic dashboard. Reliability is no problem though as their ratings are good as per the annual as well as JD power Customer Satisfaction survey say and top of that a good five year/hundred thousand mile warranty is also there.
The safety features are not compromised, it has covered all the bases like stability control for avoiding an accident and in case there is an accident, it provides with curtain bags and driver’s knee bag and anti whiplash headrests. The security measures cover all the features like alarm, immobilizer and deadlocks.
All important information can be accessed from your dashboard digital display like the fuel on how much is there. Although the seat adjustment features are good but foot-operating parking brake and the rear visibility are the low points of the car.
The space has been used well, it can accommodate five people easily with no tightness of space at head or legroom. Having a flat floor is good for the middle seat passenger as he can easily lax his leg. The boot has a high floor but still the space is good.
