2014 Peugeot 508 Saloon Review

Peugeot 508 has a variety of four diesel engines. The 110bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine is pretty good and aptly performing with the 138bhp 2.0-litre performing better with more power and strength. It gives so much worth and satisfaction that you would not need to upgrade it to the 161bhp 2.0-litre or the 201bhp 2.2-litre engine.
The suspension of this car works pretty well with adequate body control and the steering gives proper control and is not so light. GT versions are better at bends and sharp turns with a better suspension system. However, all the 508 models are bad in terms of ride.
The engines work well when worked hard and doesn’t make much noise at high speeds either. Road noise is nominal too. However, the suspension creates problems when on bumpy roads with a good amount of wind noise too.
508 is aptly priced with good CO2 emission rate too. The car is totally worth with its highly efficient and powerful diesel engines giving great value to the car and also giving cheap fuel and company car tax bills making it worth every penny.
The quality of the interiors is above excellence. The material used is high-level with great amount of detailing in the car making it really sophisticated. 508 worked quite impressively in the JD Power customer satisfaction survey.
508 just have the standard security kit with stability control and front, side and curtain airbags. But still it earned a maximum five-star crash rating in Euro NCAP crash test. Deadlocks and an alarm are there to prevent any kind of theft.
Adjustments of seats and steering wheels are available for good comfort but still the driving position is not good as the seat is too close to the floor. Dashboard is well made and is easy to use.
508 gives enough space for four tall people in the cabin. There is adequate amount of head and legroom. The main drawback of the car is its body shape making the boot have small opening creating hassles.
Access models, the lowest range models, have standard features like air-con and USB. The better version, SR adds alloy wheels, cruise control and Bluetooth to the standard features. Active and Allure include various luxury gadgets and lastly, GT models have all kinds of specifications that a gadget lover can imagine.
