2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon Review

It comes with 4 cylinder E220 CDI which gives a good performance and efficiency. The six cylinder E350 is stronger and much smoother. Petrol lovers can select anything from 4 cylinder E250 CGI to V8 powered E63 AMG.
For different versions there are different suspension systems. SE is more pliant and decently controlled. Optional air suspension in lower AMG sport is very effective. All E class models have a front end grip and a good steering.
4 cylinder diesels can be noisy and gives too much of vibration. Four cylinder petrol sounds breathless and wheezy all the time. You will hear excessive road noise and E class estate is less refined.
It is pretty expensive but its powerful residual value will safeguard your investment and is much better equipped than standard as compared to its competitors. Carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption is quite high.
At first glance E class estate feels like a premium product. The materials are pleasant and solid. But the quality and finish of some panels are not good and are disappointing.
It consists of all the safety aids that you would want in your deluxe car. It has 9 airbags and a stability control. There are some good safety options too like city braking system, stopping the car from low speeds if it senses some collision. It has a clever headlight too.
All the versions are equipped with electric seat adjustments helping you give a comfortable position to sit. But the seat doesn’t go low enough. You can control most of the functions through central dial and on screen menus can be distracting.
Mercedes Benz E class saloon comes with plenty of space at the back with an impressive head, leg and shoulder room. Four people will be very much comfortable but it might not be easy for a fifth person to adjust as the middle person will have to take care of the bulky transmission tunnel. The floor is square and the boot is big but for folding rear seats you will have to shed extra bucks.
It consists of Bluetooth, sat nav, USB, DAB radio, leather effect interior, wipers and automatic LED lights. It comes with heated and electrically adjustable front seats too.
