2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate Review

It comes with 4 cylinder E220 CDI which gives a good performance and efficiency. The six cylinders E350 is stronger and much smoother. Petrol lovers can select anything from 4 cylinder E250 CGI to V8 powered E63 AMG.
Different versions come with different suspension settings but E Class estate has a self levelling air suspension at the back end. SE has a soft setup for a comfortable ride and AMG sports have a setup which is more firm for a sharp handling. It comes with complete air suspension and is very effective but pricey.
4 cylinder diesels can be noisy and gives too much of vibration. Four cylinder petrol sounds breathless and wheezy all the time. You will hear excessive road noise and E class estate is less refined.
It is pretty expensive but its powerful residual value will safeguard your investment and is much better equipped than standard as compared to its competitors. Carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption is quite high.
At first glance E class estate feels like a premium product. The materials are pleasant and solid. But the quality and finish of some panels are not good and are disappointing.
It consists of all the safety aids that you would want in your deluxe car. It has 9 airbags and a stability control. There are some good safety options too like city braking system, stopping the car from low speeds if it senses some collision. It has a clever headlight too.
All the versions are equipped with electric seat adjustments helping you give a comfortable position to sit. But the seat doesn’t go low enough. You can control most of the functions through central dial and on screen menus can be distracting.
It has a great cavernous boot and you can very easily access it as the luggage cover and tailgate are operated electrically. For more space you can fold the rear seat flat. There is plenty of head and legroom in both rear and the front seats.
It consists of Bluetooth, sat nav, USB, DAB radio, leather effect interior, wipers and automatic LED lights. It comes with heated and electrically adjustable front seats too.
