2014 Audi A3 Hatchback Review

From the driver’s seat A3, the 123bhp 1.4 petrol is a quick to entertain whereas the 148bph 1.4 having an exceptional running cost is brisk and flexible. If looking for more performance go for 178bph 1.8, the 148bph diesel can pull happily from below 1500bph compared to 108bph.
Audi A3 has three suspension settings, which are, SE, lower sport and lower-still S line and here SE’s standard suspension providing the best balance. You know the best thing here is you can specify it at no extra cost with every trim level.
What we feel is the impressive refined steady cruise, after trying all the versions, which only is being spoiled by the wind noise from around the door mirrors. The dual-clutch S tronic gearbox is a disappointer as it has jerky shifts in automatic mode but is smoother when you take control.
Audi A3 has aluminum and high strength steel to keep the weight down and every model having stop-start technology, helpful in ensuring fuel economy and CO2 emissions. And this is comparable to the best rivals. Prices are not cheap but still not very high as that of Volkswagen Golf.
The safety feature includes the stability control and front, side and curtain airbags. You have to shell out more for Audi’s Pre-Sense system which automatically generates the safety kit if it senses some incoming collisions or impacts. The car has five star rating from Euro NCAP. It also has deadlocks and one alarm fitted as standard to guard against thefts.
Audi A3 has the higher level of built quality with soft material and classy cabins, beautifully weighted switchgear and not to forget the impressive super-slim infotainment screen. Audi’s reliability can’t be called impressive but still good. The Audi A3 comes with Multi Media Interface (MMI) which enables in manipulating the car’s performance by very simple system with shortcut keys as per one’s requirements. Highlight of A3 MMI is its central control dial along with combination of other functional.
This car is having plenty of space though it’s not that spacious in the back as when compared to VW Golf and BMW 1 series. No complains on the boot part as it is large and well-shaped. The car has adjustable floor and no step up for the rear seats.
Entry level SE specs have Bluetooth, USB, voice control and manual air-conditioning. Sport model has added features like dual zone climate control, sports seats and suspension.
