Jeep Liberty came as a Compact SUV by the Jeep division of Chrysler in 2002. It came as a replacement of Cherokee (XJ). Its special feature was its unibody chassis. The jeep was the first in many things like using a rack and pinion steering and Power-Tech engines. This 4-door SUV came in two generations till it discontinued in 2013. The 2005-2006 models came under the first generation. Three trim levels were offered, the base-level Sport, mid-range Renegade and the top-level amd the best of all Limited. 2006 Renegade and 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition Liberties received an exclusive flat hood and taller grille. The sales had been decreasing after 2006 model year constantly during the whole second generation.
