Grand Cherokee was made a mid-size SUV by the Jeep division of Chrysler. Grand Cherokee started its journey as Grand Cherokee dirst generation (ZJ) in 1993 and is running majestically on the roads till date. The 2004 model came in the second generation with a prominent feature of an automatic four wheel drive option called Quadra-Drive, which employed the New Venture Gear NV247 transfer case. 2004 came with minor changes like round fog lamps and lower front fascia. 2005 model year marked the beginning of the third generation. It had for the first time Quadra-Drive II four-wheel drive, rear-seat DVD player and optional 5.7 L Hemi V8. This generation gave as much priority to on-road capabilities as it already gave to off-road performance.
