Mercury Cougar is a collaboration of many styles and variations working under same platforms with Ford models. Made under the Mercury division of Ford Motor Company, the car had a life-line from 1967 to 2002. The car was first created a Mustang and later converted to Thunderbird and lastly to Contour. It became an integral part of Mercury all the way to its discontinuation. 2001-2002 models were Mercury Cougar which returned from previous Cougar models and came under the eighth generation. It was a sport compact in 2-door coupe. It was built on Ford CDW27 platform. The designs and features came to be contemporary. The features included a DOHC 24-valve 6-cylinder Duratec engine with a fully independent suspension. Due to its complete redesigning and high-performance versions, Cougar became immensely popular among the new generation buyers.
